2016 MPhil student Monica wins SIGHPC/Intel Computational and Data Science Fellowship

last modified Oct 26, 2016 02:00 PM
Congratulations to Monica Chelliah, who starts the MPhil in Scientific Computing this October on an ACM SIGHPC/Intel Computational & Data Science Fellowship.

ACM SIGHPC/Intel Computational & Data Science Fellowships are presented by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group on High Performance Computing, with funding provided by Intel Corporation. They were established to increase the diversity of students pursuing graduate degrees in data science and computational science, including women as well as students from racial/ethnic backgrounds that have not
traditionally participated in the computing field.

During her degree, she will be working within Andrew Morris' group
on the computational modelling of next-generation battery materials,
an area which increasingly relies on high-throughput computation and
"Big Data" methods.

See the press releases in HPCWire and insideHPC for more information on the fellowship.
