Deep Mind scholarships to build a stronger and more inclusive AI community.
DeepMind Technologies Limited is a world leader in artificial intelligence research and its application to real-world problems. DeepMind is pleased to offer fully-funded scholarships for students studying AI-related fields, including those studying for the Master's in Scientific Computing, through the Cambridge Trust.
The scholarship programme is part of an effort to build a stronger and more inclusive AI community, to bring a wider range of experiences to the fields of AI and computer science. As such, the scholarships fully fund female and/or Black students to study AI-related fields at the University of Cambridge, where these groups being currently under-represented.
Students will receive training on high performance computing and advanced algorithms for numerical simulation at continuum and atomic-scale levels. Their research project will combine this knowledge with AI methodologies to solve intractable real-world problems. An example of a potential research project is the magnetic control of fusion reactor plasmas.
Scholars will be also offered support from a DeepMind mentor, and have opportunities to attend leading AI academic conferences and DeepMind events. DeepMind Scholarships are fully funded and are tenable at any college.
Application: No separate application is required for this scholarship, only the application to the University of Cambridge for admission in the MPhil in Scientific Computing.
Funding deadline: 5th of January 2023.
Conditions: Priority will be given to applicants who have been admitted for study in the MPhil in Scientific Computing and identify as female and/or Black.
